Argentine golfing phenom, Angel Cabrera will be playing at the upcoming Masters Tournament. The 55-year-old who has won two majors during the course of his career had been inactive after serving nearly 30 months in prison for crimes against his partner Cecilia Torres and former partner Micaela Escudero.
After getting released from prison, the PGA Tour had cleared him to play in PGA Tour-sanctioned events in December 2023. This year, he has already played at two PGA Tour Champions events, the Trophy Hassan II and the Chubb Classic. This will be, however, his first start at a PGA Tour since the 2019 Masters Tournament.

Cabrera was arrested in January 2021 in Rio De Janeiro and was released in August 2023. In an interview with Golf Digest post his release, he admitted to his mistakes and asked for forgiveness from his partners. “I refused to listen to anyone and did what I wanted, how I wanted and when I wanted. That was wrong. I ask Micaela for forgiveness. I ask Celia for forgiveness. They had the bad luck of being with me when I was at my worst,” Cabrera stated.
Cabrera will be looking for redemption on the golf course when he tees off at the Augusta National in what is one of the most anticipated events of the year.
