Before ending the 2024 season, the LPGA Tour will move through a few Asian countries like China, Malaysia, and South Korea. Currently, the women’s tour is in Seowon Valley CC, Seowon Hills, for the 2024 BMW Championship with many top golfers like Lydia Ko, Hannah Green, Rose Zhang, Ashleigh Buhai, and others in the field.
Unlike last week, when the LPGA Tour was at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, the prize money was $2.10 million. But at the BMW Ladies Championship, there has been a small $10,000 increase, and the total purse is $2.20 million. When compared to the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open, where the purse is $7 million, the BMW Ladies Championship’s prize money is still notably low.
However, since the event was added to the LPGA Tour’s schedule in 2019, it has seen a $200,000 increase since, so it could be seen as a win for women’s golf. Nonetheless, it still is a hefty purse for the field. And from the $2.20 million, the winner will bag $330,000, while the runner-up will take home a check of $207,516, and the third-place winner will receive $150,583.
