Another year, another major deal for the NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell has startled the world with a massive uniform deal. The man has officially inked a 13-year contract extension with Nike, as the NFL’s official uniform partner. Goodell shocked everyone and claimed, “It’s one of those rare deals that actually touches the game.” While the Commissioner’s comments had some truth to it, the fans are not happy with this contract.
For those who missed it, supporters are demanding that Rebook should return as the uniform partner. If you recall, the NFL inked an agreement with Rebook in 2000, which began formally in 2002. It was a 10-year deal worth approximately $250 million. During those ten years, supporters were quite delighted with the uniforms and believed that NFL costume design was at its height at the time.
The report about Roger Goodell’s signing stated, “The NFL announces a 13-year extension with Nike to continue as its uniform partner. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: ‘It’s one of those rare deals that actually touches the game.’”
