Alex Fitzpatrick WITB [September 2024]: All You Need to Know About the Englishman’s Golfing Gears

Alex Fitzpatrick uses a mix of different equipment brands in his golf bag. The Englishman, brother of former U.S. Open champion, Matt Fitzpatrick, switches between Ping, TaylorMade, and Titleist for different clubs. The 25-year-old is still plying his trade on the DP World Tour but hopeful of a PGA Tour ticket via the Race to Dubai rankings. Yet to seal a victory on the home tour, Fitzpatrick likely has to wait a year. Let’s look at the equipment that’s helping him reach that dream.

Drivers, fairway woods, and irons in Fitzpatrick’s bag

Fitzpatrick keeps the Ping G430 at the top of his bag. The 440cc LST offers Fitzpatrick better control over the spin while keeping a powerful launch. The driver is available in two lofts 9° and 10.5°. Fitzpatrick prefers the latter. A Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X shaft fits the longest club in his arsenal. 

For Fairway Wood, Alex Fitzpatrick prefers TaylorMade Qi10. Again, the Qi10 3-wood offers reduced spin and more forgiveness. Qi10 is also in the bag of Scottie Scheffler. It comes at a price of $349 in the US market.  Fitzpatrick uses a 16.5° loft and a Fujikura Ventus TR Black 7 X shaft fits the 3-wood.

Fitzpatrick once again comes back to Ping for utility irons. The 25-year-old picks the iCrossover for high launches from narrow fairways. The DP World Tour pro fits Fujikura Ventus HB Black 9TX with his utility iron. Interestingly, his brother also uses a Ping iron, but it’s a different model. 

Additionally, Titleist T100 irons (4-PW) are also inside his back for more tricky approaches. A Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 X shaft fits the T100. The dual-cavity built helps Fitzpatrick find more consistency and better impact with the ball. 

Alex Fitzpatrick’s preferred wedges, putter, and golf ball

Alex Fitzpatrick prefers the Titleist Vokey Design SM 10 wedges, as opposed to the SM9 that his brother prefers. The Englishman prefers the 50°, 56°, and 60° lofts. The SM 10 wedges are hailed for low but penetrating ball flight. Whereas, the groove offers a better spin rate, and a shift in the center of gravity offers more control over each shot. 

Fitzpatrick ranks 12th in Sand Save in the DP World Tour. The SM 10 is fitted with a Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 X shaft. This very popular wedge is priced at $189-$199 at PGA Tour Superstore. 

Alex Fitzpatrick uses a Hexperimental PROTO DASS putty from Bettinardi, a brand once again made popular by his brother. The Englishman prefers this model for the precision it offers. The Hexperimental PROTO DASS comes at a price of $1,550. Lastly, Fitzpatrick is also a believer in Tour Pro V1x from Titleist, the same as Matt. A pack (dozen balls) comes at $55. The Englishman also uses a Golf Pride MCC grip.
