Along With Rylee Arnold, Stephen Nedoroscik Hints at Plans After Dancing With the Stars

At the Paris Olympics, no one would’ve guessed how popular the ‘Pommel Horse’ guy would become. While his skills on the apparatus blew the gymnastics world away, it was Stephen Nedoroscik’s personality off the mat that garnered a significant amount of attention. In fact, many even compared him to Clark Kent due to his demeanor switching effortlessly as the gymnast made his way towards the mat. And what do you know? His incredible skills helped him earn two shiny bronze medals in the French capital.

However, after the Summer Games concluded, many hoped to see the 25-year-old return to the mat. But things took a turn when DWTS announced he would be one of the first celebrities for Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars. Even though the Olympian was switching the mat for the stage, he hadn’t let gymnastics go. Week 5 was Dedication Night, where fans finally got the chance to see him on the pommel horse again.

After scoring a strong 33/40 for their Argentine Tango routine, Stephen Nedoroscik and his dance partner, Rylee Arnold, made their way off the stage. But DWTS shared a snippet of how things were behind the scenes on their Instagram story shortly after. “Hi guys, it’s Rylee and Stephen here,” the duo excitedly waved their hands to the camera. Summarizing how their night went, Arnold exclaimed, “We just danced. It went great.” However, she did drop one massive surprise. “And maybe you’ll be seeing Stephen on tour, I don’t know.” While the Olympian feigned surprise, he eventually echoed her statement with a ‘maybe’ to the camera.

Shortly after his incredible Parisian stint, the gymnast enjoyed some much-needed downtime. However, Simone Biles’ Gold Over America Tour was right around the corner, and gymnastics’ Clark Kent’s name was briefly on the roster. Why do we say it briefly? Well, the Olympian eventually made the difficult choice of adding more magic to this season by appearing on Season 33 of Dancing With the Star instead of going on the tour. The official Instagram handle announced this on August 22, captioned, From Paris to #DWTS!🥉 We’re thrilled to welcome pommel horse legend @stephen_nedoroscik as the first star of the season. How thrilling is that?

In fact, Stephen Nedoroscik even opened up about what his motivation behind this decision could be. “The thing about gymnastics is we are grinding our bodies for years and years, and it’s very rare that we get any rest time really.” Maybe getting back to the mat so soon just wasn’t on the cards. Plus, he gets to work on his insecurity of dancing and having fun while doing that. Was the duo hinting at his appearance on the G.O.A.T.? Or could it be something else?

Stephen Nedoroscik looks forward to the DWTS tour next year

After trading the pommel horse for the dance floor, the gymnast seems to be having a gala time on DWTS. In fact, since the duo began rehearsing together, they’ve been sharing behind-the-scenes videos and images from practice. The Olympian even taught Arnold a few things from the sport while she helped him work on his dance skills. Coming back to their performance from October 15, the duo couldn’t be happier with how the night went. The video shared on DWTS’ Instagram story was captioned, “Have your people call our people 🙃 @stephen_nedoroscik.”

Does this mean Stephen Nedoroscik might join his partner when the show visits several cities next year? Dancing With the Stars: Live! was announced on October 7. The tour will feature Rylee Arnold, Pasha Pashkov, Daniella Karagach, Brandon Armstrong, Emma Slater, Britt Stewart, Alan Bersten, and Gleb Savchenko. Their official website states that the cast could be changed. However, celebrity guests haven’t been announced yet. But what should you know about the show?

It will make 68 tour stops, beginning at the Altria Theater in Virginia on January 7. The tour concludes at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on April 5. The audience could relive Season 33, and the ticket went live on October 11. While the Olympian hasn’t been announced as a guest for the tour, he definitely would want to partake in it

“I think would be like incredibly fun like how cool would it be to just go around the country and do like dance routines that you learn throughout the entire fall,” he told Joe Vulpis. Stephen Nedoroscik’s summer has been incredibly exciting, and he continues to improve his dancing skills throughout this season’s run. We will have to wait to see if he wins the show. Now, imagine how exciting would it be to watch him set the stage on fire, live!
