For Charley Hull, more than one thing is keeping her busy in her moderate 2025 season. The LPGA superstar is heading into the arms of the first LPGA major of the year, The Chevron Championship, with solid competition from a talented roster. But Hull is also well-known for using her platform to support meaningful causes, from raising funds for children’s healthcare to advocating for homelessness relief, making her not just a golf star but a dedicated philanthropist.
We know she has been on a mission to spark the growth of women’s golf. With her passion and energy, Hull is determined to get more youth swinging clubs and dreaming big on the course! Now, the LPGA star has added another serious responsibility to her bag by joining hands with a LIV golfer amid her race for a win this season.
Recently, Prostate Cancer UK announced the return of its four-year-old Big Golf Race, a fundraiser aimed at increasing awareness about prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men, and highlighting the importance of early detection through regular and accurate testing. The promotional video for the Big Golf Race, scheduled for June, showcases a star-studded lineup featuring Lee Westwood and Charley Hull.
They are joined by fellow golfers Matt Wallace and Gemma Dryburgh. The video also features notable figures from other sports, including Harry Brook, the new captain of the England white ball cricket team, and international rugby stars Dan Biggar and Kenny Logan. Additionally, Duncan Scott, Scotland’s most decorated Olympian, along with TV and golf personalities Josh Denzel and Dan Grieve, have joined the initiative.
This race is the UK’s largest fundraising challenge in golf, specifically designed to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Golfers can complete 36, 72, or even 100 holes in a single day. Additionally, the fundraiser has seen significant success over the years. Since its launch, the Big Golf Race has engaged over 14,000 golfers and raised an impressive £4.4 million (approximately $58 million) for essential research. In 2024, more than 2,800 golfers participated, collectively raising over £1 million (around $13 million). Beyond focusing on research, Prostate Cancer UK also promises a great experience for participating golfers.

Those who sign up for the Big Golf Race will receive a comprehensive fundraising pack that includes essential items such as golf balls, tees, pencils, and a detailed fundraising guide to help them maximize their efforts. Furthermore, participants have the opportunity to earn various incentive gifts based on their fundraising achievements. For instance, every golfer who raises £250 will enter a draw for a luxurious golfing holiday at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus, while the overall top fundraiser will receive an ultimate golf package valued at £3,000, generously provided by Titleist.
Many good deeds in one package. But, Hull does it from the heart. In 2024, Charley Hull launched a raffle with signed memorabilia (with collectibles from the 2024 Paris Olympics and the Solheim Cup) to support Great Ormond Street Hospital, inspired by her trainer’s son’s treatment there. Every penny went to GOSH. She also backed the “Give Warmth—Give Hope” campaign, using her platform to help provide winter essentials to those experiencing homelessness. However, this isn’t the first time LPGA stars have come together to support such cause.
Lydia Ko joined hands with Morgan Pressel for Morgan Pressel Foundation
The Morgan and Friends golf tournament, held annually at the St. Andrews Country Club, Florida, is organized by the Morgan Pressel Foundation to raise funds in the fight against cancer. This year marked the 18th edition of the tournament, featuring prominent golfers such as Meaghan Francella, Brittany Lincicome, Brooke Henderson, and Lydia Ko. The event aimed to support early detection, research, genetic counseling, and the development of new treatments for cancer. Morgan Pressel founded the foundation in memory of her mother, Kathy, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2003.
This January, the tournament raised an impressive $1,022,000, surpassing the $900,000 collected in 2024, thanks to the participation of LPGA’s top names. The event’s success showcased the strong support from the golfing community, which was thrilled to see Lexi Thompson back at her happy place alongside Lydia Ko. The Morgan Pressel Foundation dedicated its efforts to spreading awareness about breast cancer through social media campaigns, charity events, and fundraisers, creating a platform for improved research and early detection initiatives.
LPGA stars like Charley Hull continue to make a significant impact off the course by supporting vital causes such as cancer research and early detection. Their involvement in initiatives like the Mammovan fundraiser showcases their commitment to positive change, inspiring others to contribute to these important efforts.
