Chris Eubank Jr. might have missed the biggest bus of his career. A fight with Canelo Alvarez was well on the cards. But the British boxer fumbled the fight, as the negotiations never materialized into something. It seems the trouble is only mounting on him, as Conor Benn has a grim prediction for him.
Eddy Reynoso recently shunned the rumors by Ben Shalom that Eubank Jr., 35, was in talks with the Mexican champion. In addition, he closed the doors for any such possibility in the future, too. He told Dan Rafael, “It’s totally false. Eubank had his chance to fight Canelo in September, and the only thing he did was complicate the negotiations. We will not touch base with him again for a future fight!”
That’s why

This enabled Benn, 28, to take a dig at his rival as he turned to his X handle and addressed how his fellow compatriot’s future only existed in the welterweight division. Besides, he forecasted a knockout in their bout and even. He wrote, “Just face it Junior the welterweight is your biggest pay day and the only fight for you and I promise you im going to leave you flat on the canvas. 3 rounds done .”
Benn, at 23-0, and Eubank Jr., at 34-3, reignited their feud, which dates back to 2022 when they announced a fight. But the latter’s troubles with testing didn’t allow them to exchange blows in the ring. ‘The Destroyer’ even interrupted Eubank Jr.’s festivities when he won the IBO title against Kamil Szeremeta. The two have flirted with the idea of a fight next since then, and Eubank Jr. already has tried to warn Benn about the gulf in their skills.
Chris Eubank Jr. wants to give a wake-up call to Conor Benn
Eubank Jr., in a conversation with Sky Sports, casted doubts over Benn’s abilities. He explained the Greenwich native needed to fight someone of his caliber to judge his toughness and greatness. ‘Next Gen’ then laid out the qualities that he would bring to the table, which might be too much for Benn to handle.
Eubank Jr. declared, “I think what I bring to the table is far too elite, far too superior in terms of my experience, skill, power, speed. I just think everything is going to be too much for him. He will tell you different. But I think it is going to be a serious wake-up call for him.” Given the traction surrounding the two and their animosity, chances are that they will soon share the ring. But it remains to be seen who will come on top.
