Dana White Gives Unexpected Response to Oscar De La Hoya’s Dancing Video as Boxing Legend’s $50,000 Cancer Donation Campaign Goes Viral

Head of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya is getting roasted by his old pal UFC top honcho Dana White for the freaky video the retired boxer and his partner Holly Sonders have shared on social media. Earlier this month, De La Hoya and Sonders put out a video of themselves grooving to Sak Noel’s ‘Loca People’ with barely any clothes on.

The clip quickly went viral as Oscar and Sonders revealed more skin than what viewers had expected. The video sparked backlash online, with some people expressing their outrage, leading to its eventual removal from Instagram. Interestingly, later the couple was offered $500,000 from CamSoda, an adult streaming site, to re-create the dance on their live stream.

While this didn’t lead to anything, as Sonders suggested, it was nothing more than a marketing move from the company, the enigmatic couple seems to have given their raunchy video a makeover by making it a PSA of sorts. According to a report from TMZ Sports, they have now received a response clip from Oscar and Sonders, claiming the whole thing was part of the “Tanga and Ta-tas awareness program.”

Sonders even claimed they spent $50,000 of their own money to fund screenings at the Adventist White Memorial Hospital in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. She also revealed that the timing of the clip’s release was deliberate, coinciding with September’s Cancer Awareness Month.

Referencing their first clip, Sonders and Oscar said in a joint statement, “We hope that our lighthearted video brings awareness to two diseases that are not funny at all — we want to do whatever we can to help provide men and women with [the] access they need to remain healthy for their families.”

They further added that they want the subject to become less taboo and spread the message that people should get screened early and annually. For Oscar, Breast Cancer Awareness is something he has always advocated for actively because of his mother, Cecilia Gonzalez De La Hoya’s saddening demise in the 1990s as a result of the disease. However, Dana White refused to see the clip in the light in which Oscar De La Hoya intended it to.

Dana White shares sarcastic take on Oscar De La Hoya and his videos

White and Oscar have never been on friendly terms, a fact that’s widely known. So, it’s no surprise that White had some sarcastic remarks about Oscar’s provocative videos. During a recent press conference for the Contender Series, the UFC head was probed about his thoughts on Oscar’s videos.

“Unfortunately, I did see those,” White said derisively. “And a new one came out today. Wow…” When the reporter informed him about the cancer awareness program Oscar and Sonders were promoting through the clip, White sarcastically responded, “He definitely did that. He raised some awareness.”

It appears the long-lasting feud between Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White will continue, as both -parties take shots at each other every opportunity they get. While it’s a great initiative from Oscar, the way it was done isn’t exactly appropriate. However, what did you think about the whole thing?
