Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell has high praise for teammate Cyriel Dessers, believing he can lead the team to glory this season. Dessers demonstrated his scoring prowess by netting a brace in Rangers’ Scottish Cup semi-final win over Hearts last weekend.
The Nigerian striker has been pivotal in Rangers’ campaign to clinch the Scottish Premiership title. This season, the 29-year-old has impressively contributed 19 goals across all competitions. Rangers are currently three points behind their arch-rivals, Celtic, in the league standings.

The team is also set to face Hearts again in the Scottish Cup final, with high hopes pinned on Dessers to continue his form. Cantwell is optimistic about their partnership and the season’s end. “From one of his first training sessions, I think we realized we would be on the same page. Hopefully, we can get a bit of a run together now until the end of the season and get some goals and assists,” Cantwell shared with Rangers Review.
Dessers joined Rangers last summer from the Italian club, Cremonese, and has quickly become a key player for Philippe Clement’s side. As the season approaches its climax, all eyes will be on Dessers to see if he can indeed fire the Light Blues to title glory.
