Dwyane Wade’s Son Zaire Wade Shows Off Impressive Dunking Ability as Career Renaissance Attempts Continue

When your father is the NBA legend, Dwyane Wade, the shadow of his greatness looms large. Especially if you fall from the elite bunch. Zaire Wade’s journey toward his dream of being drafted into the NBA has been nothing short of admirable. Not when he has traveled the world to keep his dream alive – from Cape Town Tigers in South Africa to Macau Black Bears in China. Despite all the odds, he has managed to persevere and train religiously. And he didn’t forget to show his development for the whole world to see.

In 2021, the 6’3 feet point guard joined the Salt Lake City Stars as the 10th overall pick during the NBA G-League Draft. But fate decided to be cruel to him. Only after 12 games with the Stars, he fell victim to a serious knee injury. It resulted in him getting sidelined for the whole season. But his determination to continue holding the game was as strong as ever. After moving to two continents and playing for two different leagues, he tried again at the G-League last October. However, luck was not on his side. He didn’t get drafted. In this situation, one would ask – Did he give up then? The answer is a big NO. He continuously shows that he practices relentlessly and diligently. Guess how? In his Instagram updates!

Zaire Wade showed off his new improved finishing abilities on his Instagram story. He started off with a dribbling package that ended up with a finish similar to that of LeBron’s iconic game-winner vs Toronto Raptors in 2018. He didn’t stop there though. The ending is the highlight.  Why? Well, it’s a thunderous right-handed dunk, showing off his now fully developed right-handed finishing like his father, Dwyane Wade. With a caption that seems to be a message to others. Or rather for himself! It wrote, “its a lot weighin’ on my shoulder, I ain’t ever gon fold up -ENJOYTHETRAFFIC.

As the son of a Hall of Famer, expectations put on the 23-year-old are quite high. Sometimes, it becomes too heavy and tiresome. Even more so because he used to play with Bronny James at Sierra Canyon during their high school days. With Bronny joining the Lakers, Z Wade has been on the receiving end of criticisms and disappointments. But the young man is serious about his path to the NBA. At least, he’s ‘enjoying the traffic’ as D-Wade says. Besides basketball, the Chicago lad has interests in fashion, music, and entrepreneurship. Like father, like son.

The father-son duo’s ventures in other niches

Apart from being a basketball Hall of Famer, Dwyane Wade has built a business empire. From real estate business, and TV productions to hair and skin-care line, you name it. And he has instilled the values of making an everlasting impact on any venture to his children. Especially his eldest son since D-Wade has been the biggest supporter and diving force in Zaire’s life. He always wants his boy to go above and beyond in everything he does. And Z-Wade takes his advice seriously.

As a part of his creative pursuit, Zaire Wade launched his clothing brand YNG-DNA in 2021. The line provides sustainable and stylish casual and athletic wear. Shortly after, Zaire partnered with The Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) and Electric Token for NFT products.

During a press release, the co-founder of Electric Token, Jacob York said, “Serving on the EMA board, I’m proud to recognize this special partnership as a meaningful opportunity for people of color to advance the culture through tech and fashion while also being environmentally conscious.” Guess what type of company is Electric Token? Yes, it is a black-owned organization. Now, a curiosity arises. Is Z-Wade following his father’s footsteps not only in basketball but also in activism?
