Misfortune has no end for Emma Raducanu. The Briton has been ridiculed with troubles these past few months and just when things start looking up, the young talent is kept from prevailing. After much excitement around her return at the Korea Open and notably, gaining some momentum initially, Raducanu has been gunned down by physical restraints. This, in turn, has taken a significant toll on her Asian swing participation.
Following a third-round walkover in Seoul, wherein she faced concerns surrounding ligament sprains, Raducanu has announced a saddening update. The former World No. 10’s recent hardships have incapacitated her, eliciting her to withdraw from the upcoming China Open in Beijing, slated to commence on September 25. A truly disheartening situation for Raducanu.
She said, “Hello, last week in Seoul I sprained some ligaments in my foot which unfortunately need some more time to heal. It means I can’t play in Beijing but I hope to be back competing as soon as I can.”
