Deion Sanders just got trolled by trolls! Utah Utes QB Cam Rising injured a finger on his right throwing hand in the last game against Baylor in the second quarter. He was pushed into the Gatorade coolers on the sideline and went to the locker room. The 25-year-old later reappeared in casual clothes and watched the remainder of the game on the sideline with his middle and ring fingers bandaged.
On Thursday, Deion Sanders posted about Cam Rising on X despite his injury being flagged as short-term. The post read, “Praying for @Utah_Football Cam Rising. God bless u, your family & team. You’re a awesome resilient young man.” This post caught the attention of so many people because it appeared Deion Sanders had been duped by the parody account which was spreading false updates.
It didn’t take long for Deion Sanders to get back on track. On September 13, he replied to his previous post on Cam Rising on X. He wrote, “I was really bothered by thinking this kid was hurt again. God bless the trolls. They’re pretty good at what they do. Still God bless this young man & I do think he’s awesome for what he’s endured.”

The rumor started when an X account posing as an analyst uploaded a breaking post announcing that Cam Rising’s wound has become affected and are “showing signs of Tetanus” and that he’s “expected to be out for up 6-8 weeks.” But CFB insider Brett McMurphy cleared the confusion with a response on the post saying, “This is a satirical account posing as an ‘analyst.’ The University of Utah has not released any sort of update, and reputable analysts have claimed otherwise to this satirical tweet.” Easing Deion Sanders’ concern, Cam Rising will be healthy enough to lead the Utes by next week.
