As time has gone by, the first few games where it seemed Luka’s magic was fading have now transformed into a seven-game winning streak for the Los Angeles Lakers.
But it’s not only because Doncic holds the power to learn and adapt quicker than most. The Lakers have a set of high-intelligence players,. Right next to him is his idol, LeBron James who even at the age of 40 is showing opponents that his light continues to shine bright. With Luka Doncic his jobs gotten easier. Simple transition buckets and a gifted passer has opened up the floor for James.
But what’s scary is the Akron Hammer thinks there’s still more trickery of Doncic which will unfold gradually.
“He’s getting more and more comfortable not only with the team, not only with the sets but with everything. The fans, you know LA and I think every day is going to get better and better for him. Obviously healthwise he is getting better and better with his calf so it’s good for our team,” he said about Doncic.

The traces of his injury seem to be gone. Luka Doncic compiled his third 30+ point game in a Laker jersey tonight. But tonight was arguably the game where he imposed his control the most. Along with 30 points, the Slovenian guard added 15 assists and 8 rebounds in the dominant win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
He also recorded the highest net differential at +37. Placed in a highly mobile offensive system, Doncic’s gift for passing and elevating his teammates is flourishing with the Lakers so far. Moreover, the Laker Nation is falling in love with Luka Magic. As for the 25-year-old, he is beginning to embrace the City of Angels too.

Dealing with the trade at first wasn’t easy for Luka Doncic. He had bought a brand new house in Dallas with all preparations to spend a long time of his career in Texas. But then his world shifted. As tough as that was, moving to Los Angeles isn’t a bad deal at all. And now that he has experienced some of the perks of being in the city, Doncic is happy.
It’s evident in his play. Each time he makes a shot as a Laker, a beaming smile arises. As much as his on-court dedication plays a part in it, Luka Doncic settling well into Los Angeles also makes for an easier transition to being cheerful on the court.
“Yeah I mean off-court for me is not as important but it’s close. If things are good off the court then you proceed to be great on the court. You know I have things to think about. I am just getting to know the city,” Doncic said after his sublime performance. There’s just one thing he wasn’t prepared for. “I got to say the traffic is crazy but it’s amazing,”.
What’s not to love? Now in one of the biggest markets, Luka Doncic has become an attraction, bringing in celebrities and being at the helm of one of the biggest sports franchises. Aside from traffic, Los Angeles is welcoming Doncic like a star of stars. And it’s well deserved for a player of his aptitude and skill.
The relationship has only just begun and the team is swimming in success. With a basketball sicko like JJ Redick, he is probably already concocting unqiue schemes and tactics to enhance the Luka Doncic experienc.
