Ripper GC’s team member Marc Leishman withdrew himself right ahead of the second round of the LIV Golf UK by JCB. He was suffering from appendicitis the previous evening, and thus despite an impressive 2-under 69 on Friday’s opening round, he was rushed to the hospital. He required immediate surgery for the removal of his appendix. Reserve player Wade Ormsby replaced him on the field.
Cameron Smith, Leishman’s team captain, confirmed the news stating, “We hope he will recover in time for Greenbrier,” on his Instagram account. Well, his prayers have been answered and Leishman will be a part of the field in Greenbrier. However, it wasn’t his response that grabbed the attention of Greg Norman, the White Shark. Rather, it was his caddie’s antics that made him laugh hard.

The LIV Golf has reached the USA three weeks after the successful event in the UK, where Jon Rahm grabbed his first victory after moving to the breakaway league. As all the 54 members reached The Old White at The Greenbrier for their practice round, the second runner-up team of the LIV Golf UK, the Rippers GC was seen on the course with Greg Norman.
All the teammates, Marc Leishman, Matt Jones, and Lucas Herbert, with their teammates and caddies, were seen hitting the bombs in front of Greg Norman. As Matt Kelly, Leishman’s caddie, took the club, he hit the ball from 278 yards to 20 feet, impressing Norman with the drive. However, it was after the hit that he left a joke.
As the 2024 season is about to come to an end, Kelly asked, “Greg have you got any of those LIV contracts ready”, to the ‘Great White Shark.’ This left all the players in the field laughing along with Greg Norman. Well, Lucas Herbert also shared the video on his official Instagram account in collaboration with LIV Golf’s account.

The LIV Golf 2024 season to last till September end
The LIV Golf returns to the USA after a successful event in the UK after three long weeks. Notably, the Greenbrier is scheduled to be hosted at The Old White at the Greenbrier from August 16 to August 18. The organizers will host the remaining two events of the breakaway league in the USA.
The LIV Golf Chicago event is scheduled to take place at the Bolingbrook Golf Club from September 13 to September 15, marking a return after almost a month. The gap between the penultimate and the ultimate event of the 2024 season will just be that of a week.
Furthermore, mark your calendars for the Team Championship Dallas, which will be held at the Maridoe Golf Club from September 20 to September 22. After this stretch, the organizers will announce the titles of the individual and the team winner of the season!
