‘Looks Like Fun’ – Andy Roddick Shares Honest Reaction as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Iconic US Open Moment Steals the Show

While all the eyes were supposed to be on Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz during the men’s singles final at the US Open, there was enough star power in the stands to take eyes off them. One such celebrity power couple was Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who grabbed the spotlight with their glittering appearances in the stands. Along with the duo, the likes of Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were also present. While the camera often rolled onto them, Swift and Kelce were involved in an adorable moment that was grabbing the headlines of late.

During one of the mid-game intervals, the loudspeakers played the song ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love.’ Swift, who has been in awe of this song by the Darkness singer Justin Hawkins, danced to the tunes of this song along with Kelce and also sang along. The video of them enjoying their time out during this song went viral on social media and even caught the attention of the American tennis legend, Andy Roddick.

While there were questions over whether Swift and Kelce were actually singing this song, Roddick said, “Or ……. Mostly real and a little performative. Either way looks like fun being had.”

Swift has an interesting history with this song, which is a special one for her. She has been a longtime fan of the song and expressed this to The Darkness’ lead singer and guitarist, Justin Hawkins, who originally played this song. Apparently, Hawkins attended a show on her Eras Tour back in July when Swift expressed it to him.

“Justin, What a thrill to have you at the show! I’m a massive fan of yours and think ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. I hope you and your family have fun at the show! Thanks so much for coming!! Love, Taylor,” she wrote.

However, this wasn’t the only thing that went viral on social media as Swift attended the US Open final. Even an old remark where Fritz mistakenly was called Swift went viral to which the former reacted.

Taylor Fritz issues clarification after being mistaken for Taylor Swift

Swift and Kelce were in the house to support Taylor Fritz against Sinner. However, the American star fell short and succumbed to defeat against the World Number Sinner. While the two were engaged in a thrilling battle, an old video resurfaced on social media where Taylor Fritz was mistakenly called Taylor Swift. However, Fritz later issued a clarification over this resurfaced video.

He said, “I’ve seen a lot of, I’ve had a lot of people call like say, Taylor Swift instead of Fritz. I don’t know. I don’t see the similarities really so much, but I don’t know, when it happens, I don’t really care, obviously.”

Although it was a heartbreaking loss for Fritz in the end, he was proud of the way he performed in the tournament and revealed, “It’s been an amazing run and thank you to the fans for everything this week. Being an American at the US Open is just incredible, feeling love all week, so thank you so much.”

The American star will look to come back strongly and end his 2024 season on a high. He will be seen in action next to the Laver Cup, which will take place later this month.
