Lille striker Jonathan David, who will become a free agent in the summer, admitted in an interview with The Athletic that he dreams of playing for Barcelona:
“Barcelona was always the team I grew up supporting. When you grow up supporting a team, it’s your dream to play for them.”
However, David added that he would not want to leave Lille in the January transfer window and would consider the next career move only at the end of the season:
“Going to a club midseason is never easy. It’s not like the beginning of a season where you have a pre-season, you get to know your teammates, you have time to gel.
In January, things are very hectic. It’s about right now. It’s tougher,” said the Canadian forward.

Manchester United are actively pursuing the signing of Bayern defender Alphonso Davies in an attempt to bypass Real Madrid, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The Spanish club are considered favorites in the race to sign the Canadian fullback, but United are among other interested parties who are actively negotiating with the player.
The source claims that Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, is trying to “make the most of the situation.” The Red Devils do have a chance to land the player, as Real Madrid are refusing to do anything crazy with the defender, who is out of contract in the summer of 2025.
And let’s recall that in the last transfer window Manchester United beat Real Madrid in the battle for Lille central defender Leny Yoro.
