500 points. 12 double-doubles. Four 30+ point games. Hamiley Arenas’ freshman season reads like that of a seasoned star. Now, the Notre Dame standout has another accolade to add to her growing list – an All-State nomination. The daughter of NBA veteran Gilbert Arenas and younger sister of five-star recruit Alijah Arenas, Hamiley has stepped into the spotlight with performances that demand attention. With numbers like these, it’s no surprise she’s emerging as one of the top young prospects in California
The Arenas family has yet another reason to celebrate – Hamiley just earned an All-State nomination for girls’ basketball. Notre Dame HS head coach Jena Loalagi was the first to share the news on social media, along with a message to congratulate her. “Congratulations Hamiley Arenas on being an All-State Nominee! Keep shining. @NDAthleticsSO” she wrote on X.
From the moment Hamiley Arenas first stepped onto the court, she played like a seasoned star. Whether lighting up Ventura with 30 points and 6 rebounds or stealing the spotlight against the Venice Gondoliers with a 22-point showcase, she has consistently delivered elite performances.
Back in her debut game in November, Hamiley recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds gaining praise from her family as well as fans. She also recorded four games where she had 30 points or more. The 16-year-old holds an impressive record of 12 double-doubles. After achieving a season-high 40 points against Santa Monica in December, she surpassed the 500-point milestone in January.

“500 points already huh! You’re a Beast Mama keep going @hamileyarenas0,” her mother, Laura Govan, wrote on social media. The star-to-be has averaged 23.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game this season, according to MaxPreps. Along with her stunning performance on the court, she ensures to pass on some energy to her siblings as well.
Hamiley Arenas cutely hyped up her siblings
Just recently, she joined her brother for his official jersey photoshoot. The five-star shooting guard, Alijah is often spotted on social media giving a shout out to his sisters. The Arenas have perhaps multiple reasons to celebrate this year. An extremely talented Chatsworth player, Alijah was selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game. “Burgerrerr Boyyyy,” Hamiley wrote in her IG story to show her support.
Rather than choosing Louisville, where his sister plays, or the former Golden State Warriors player’s alma mater, Arizona, Alijah committed to USC. Her brother, Aloni, and mother, Laura Govan, were also seen at his photoshoot.
And it’s not just her older brother, Hamiley also often gives a shout out to her little brother, Aloni. Hamiley makes sure to guide her brother the right way. Recently sharing a clip of Aloni playing for his AAU team, Compton Magic, she jokingly wrote, “oh my gawdddddddd @aloniarenas. He gets in from me yall.” He is currently playing in middle school, but it shouldn’t be long before he begins to steal the spotlight like his siblings.
