Shaquille O’Neal’s Empty Mansion Hosts French Guest As DJ Diesel Drops Major Collab News

After basketball, everything else could be a side quest for Shaquille O’Neal, except music. The former LA Lakers icon has taken his passion for music quite seriously, even during his basketball career. Furthering that passion, the 4x NBA champ is coming up with something new for the fans.

As revealed by an IG post shared by ivorydubz and djdiesel, Ivory collaborated with the former NBA star for a new creation. “I just made a song with Shaq and he invited me to his home at Las Vegas so we’ll go see what’s going on,” Ivory said, appearing in the IG video.

The latter part of the video showed Ivory hanging out at Shaq’s mansion as the ex-NBA star had to leave. But the main purpose of the post was clear — the collaboration announcement. The announcement comes after Shaquille O’Neal’s recent hit DJ stint, taking over LIV Miami with his dubstep set.

As per Source.com, the crowd responded really well to the 4x NBA champ’s tracks from his recent album, GORILLA WARFARE. For those unaware, dubstep is a subgenre of EDM said to have emerged in South London in the early 2000s.

While Shaq is popularly known as “Dubstep Dad”, Ivory also specializes in the genre. According to the Bass Music Fandom website, his real name is Andy Caboche. “A dubstep and electronica producer currently based in Paris, France… creates dubstep, trench, drum & bass, house and midtempo,” read the bio on the website. Now, many fans may not know this, but Ivory already collaborated with the ex-NBA star on a song titled Moshpit.

Released in September 2021, the ex-NBA star himself wrote the lyrics, while NITTI and Ivory were among the production and artist team, along with Shaq. From what it seems in the recent IG post, Big Diesel is once again set to join forces with Ivory.

A closer look at Shaquille O’Neal’s deeply rooted love for music

Famed for his illustrious NBA career, Shaq channeled his post-basketball energy into a surprising new passion—music. Under his stage name, DJ Diesel, the 15x All-Star released his debut album, Shaq Diesel. Despite some criticism and mixed responses to his growth, he continued to pursue music.

But the former Lakers star’s love for music ran deeper than just a career sideline. After retiring, he found solace in dubstep, which helped lift him out of a funk. “I was definitely in a funk.… Music was the only thing that got me [out of it],” he revealed. Seemingly, DJing gave him a thrill akin to the excitement of playoff games.

Fans who watched DJ Diesel perform saw more than just a show. Shaq is committed to delivering exceptional performances, driven by a promise to exceed expectations. “When I’m performing and you’re paying money to watch me perform. It’s my duty to give you your money’s worth and more,” he once said.

So, when Shaquille O’Neal takes the stage, he isn’t just spinning tracks. He is channeling a deep, enduring passion that has energized his post-NBA life.
