If you see Stephen Curry’s legacy for the past decade, it’s outright remarkable. For years, the player shot three-point bombs while leading the Warriors to four NBA titles. Those are staggering numbers, and he equaled LeBron James with that. One more and he is above King James. Naturally, after all the successful years, Stephen Curry gained fans worldwide. In the NBA, it has come to a point where young players entering the league adore him.
After the Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Clippers, Fox Sports 1 panelist, Rachel Nichols, inquired about Curry’s thoughts regarding the recognition he gets from the league. She posted the story on X, quoting, “Great story from Draymond Green tonight about the reverence Steph Curry inspires – he said a current NBA All-Star hit him this summer to ask for Steph’s number…and then basically asked Draymond to help compose a text to him, because he was too nervous to do it on his own.”

Although we don’t know who the All-Star was, you see Steph’s influence on younger players. In a post-match press conference, Steph replied to the question, “I noticed it. You try to appreciate it, acknowledge it and it’s still surreal. Because I feel like every episode like that or every example of that, it does remind you of how long you have been in this league. So it’s kind of sobering at the same time, but I feel like, uh, it’s a blessed position to be in.”
It makes you feel great to see most players in the league learning from you. As a player, you try to set the right example by leading the team from the front and adhering to the positive values that made you great. Curry does his role to perfection. It’s natural to see most players having his poster in their rooms or having his autographs.
He recounted about a Lakers rookie, Quincy Olivari, who broke down in tears after meeting the legend. It pleasingly punches your heart with all the surrounding admiration for Curry, right now.
Lakers rookie teared up after meeting his idol, Stephen Curry
“Still trying to play at a high level but have the appreciation from guys, no matter, you know, what they, how many years they have been in this league. And even down to, Quincy Oivari. We had that moment pre-season. So like the whole game, it doesn’t makes sense to me cuz 16 years is, just flew by. But I do lean into it and appreciate the admiration,” Curry said, after the Olivari meetup.
In a game against the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers’ Quincy Olivari led the team with 22 points but lost the game. Scouts saw the young talent delivering a clinical performance. However, the player’s landmark moment came when he greeted Curry. For the young player, it became a moment to savor.

“I liked him since I was in 6th grade… that’s my favorite player ever… the first thing he told me was ‘I’m a big fan of your game and I had his jersey. He signed it twice. I used to sleep under that jersey,” said an emotional Olivari, who broke down during the press conference.
For Curry, many people consider him their idol. They are right. Nobody can have the confidence to take a game-winning shot from the logo, the one he did against OKC several years back. People call him superhuman, a unicorn, a shooting god. But for Curry:
“I’ll let them talk about it the way they want to. I am a normal human being and very approachable. So yeah, definitely open to give advice and be you know, a resource to anybody.”
