The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event in Texas has been full of action, but fans tuning in to watch the fight live on Netflix are facing technical difficulties. As anticipation builds for the night’s main event, prominent figures from the combat sports world, including MMA fighter Stephen Thompson and boxing promoter Lou DiBella, have voiced their frustration on social media.
The bout was broadcast exclusively on the video streaming platform, marking their debut in the sport. However, their entry into the world of combat sports hasn’t been smooth. From the very beginning of the event, viewers have expressed dissatisfaction, with complaints also surfacing during YouTuber Wade Willson‘s broadcast.
However, as the event gradually approaches its main event, the frustration continues to mount. While the event is free for subscribers of the streaming giant, offering an affordable alternative for fans, it appears that this convenience is being overshadowed by growing disappointment.
The UFC mixed martial artist revealed he could barely watch the fight. “My Netflix for the Paul vs Tyson fight is streaming at a solid 480p right now….I feel like I’m watching live-action Minecraft… anyone else or just me,” Stephen Thompson wrote.

Meanwhile, boxing Promoter Lou DiBella seems to be having a similar issue. “I can’t … #boxing,” he wrote.

Another user roped in illegal streamers. “Illegal streamers right now seeing Netflix app not working,” the user wrote while sharing a picture of a man standing in the dark.
Someone else asked, “Anybody else’s @netflix service crashing constantly during #PaulTyson.”
The next user wrote, “I can’t wait to watch this fight. My Netflix resolution,” while sharing an image from Mike Tyson’s old Nintendo game.
That being said, Netflix seems to have messed up big time with their debut with one of the most talked about fights of the year. Whether this results in further controversy is yet to be seen. Did you face issues with the stream?
