Unfazed by Revenge Seeking John Gotti III, Floyd Mayweather Gives Rival a Harsh Reality Check Ahead of Rematch: “It’ll Be a Total Mismatch Because…”

What was supposed to be a good old exhibition quickly turned into an all-out brawl the last time Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III were in the same ring. The duo went toe-to-toe in June last year at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida. However, during the sixth round, all hell broke loose when the referee in charge put a stop to the fight.

The thing is, Mayweather and Gotti were hurling insults at each other, which encouraged the referee to stop the fight right then and there. However, John Gotti III didn’t stop swinging, starting a humongous brawl inside and outside the ring between the two sides. Ahead of their rematch, Gotti has already expressed his desire to exact vengeance on Mayweather, though inside the ring. Sadly for him, Mayweather remains unfazed.

Floyd Mayweather is looking to have fun

Speaking to Alex Montiel, who also goes by PelucheEn ElEstuche, Mayweather responded to Gotti’s intentions of “war” ahead of the fight, claiming, “Well, I’m going out there to have fun.” He further added that if the fight tonight was to be a real professional match, as Gotti III is treating it to be, things wouldn’t go well for Gotti.

“He has to come down actually to my weight class, which is 147,” Mayweather said, adding that in such a scenario, “it’ll be a total mismatch because he would be a drained fighter.” Mayweather wasn’t about to stop there, as he reminded everyone that he was used to fighting in his weight class, so he wouldn’t have to do much to lose weight.

Whereas, John Gotti III, who tipped the scale at 181 pounds during their last fight, will have to make serious dietary and training changes to even be eligible for the fight. Turning to Gotti’s desire to exact revenge upon him, Mayweather seemed to be looking forward to it. “He should want revenge. It is what it is. Well, I want him to come out there Saturday and put on a show for the Mexican people,” Floyd added confidently.

That said, the exhibition fight is shaping up to be quite the spectacle, which by the sound of their statements should be action-packed. But how can you catch the action?
