“My sons can date when they’re 18 and my daughters can date when they are 24.” Shaquille O’Neal on The Ellen DeGeneres Show stated the rules for his children to follow. But his kids, especially his daughters seem to disagree with their father’s advice. Shaq’s youngest daughters Amirah and Me’Arah are 23 and 18 years old, respectively, and are reportedly dating. So, the Lakers legend’s suggestion of waiting till 24 is out of the window. Even the eldest, Taahirah recently shared her strategy to find love.
“He will come when you’re not looking.” It was the caption from the Influencer Shauntel Renay’s post. Where she closed her eyes using her hands and continued doing the daily chores from walking and eating out. So, Taahirah is hinting that she is not looking for the one, but is definitely waiting. But her younger sisters reportedly are already dating and gave hints about it. Earlier this month, Amirah did a ‘soft launch’ about her relationship status.
In the snap, there was a mystery man beside her, whose face wasn’t visible. The quote from the 23-year-old stated: “Forever and abundantly blessed.” Which makes it look like she is in a relationship, as she wrote the message in a cryptic manner. Following in her footsteps, Shaquille O’Neal’s youngest too shared her dating life secrets. On her Instagram story, the Gators star shared a collage of four cute pictures.
The second was Me’Arah’s selfie with her girlfriend. While the third one featured an image of the shadows of the two making a heart with their hands. Another photo shows the two with big bouquets of roses, balloons, a basketball full of snacks, and a heart-shaped pillow. Even though Taahirah currently is looking or not looking, she confirmed her relationship status a year ago.
Shaquille O’Neal’s eldest doesn’t believe in the Lakers legend’s dating guidance
As stated before the O’Neal girls do not follow what their dad said about dating until a certain age. Last year, a week before Valentine’s Day, the 28-year-old said, “I don’t mind sharing (her relationship status), I am dating right now.” There is also revealed how she would never date athletes and cited Shaquille O’Neal’s absence because of the grueling schedule as one of the key reasons.
Even though Shaq does not interfere in their personal lives, Taahirah spoke about waiting until a certain age to date. “My dad…hilarious because he has been in the press talking about we can’t date until we are 35…me and my sister, we were like, incorrect.” So, in the O’Neal household, they had already discussed the Shaquille O’Neal interview and made it clear they wouldn’t follow that rule.
“It was like last month, I said Dad, I’m going on a date, his name is…he was like ‘Okay, that was a lot. Thanks but I trust you’”, Taahirah stated. So, it’s clear that Shaq is okay when his children carrying on in their lives and not following the hard rules about dating.
