After the Steelers‘ 28-14 Wild Card loss to the Ravens, head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t mince words. He expressed frustration with his team’s performance. And particularly with quarterback Russell Wilson‘s play.
“Like our effort, it wasn’t good enough. I love the spirit and the fight, particularly out of the half,” Tomlin said postgame. His words hinted at deeper concerns regarding Wilson’s performance in the playoff loss. Despite a couple of key touchdowns from Wilson, the Steelers struggled to get going. The team failed to score in the first half. And it marked the first time this had happened under Tomlin’s tenure.

Additionally, Tomlin was asked about the ongoing quarterback competition between Wilson and Justin Fields. While he didn’t offer specifics, he made it clear that he isn’t ready to make any big decisions on the position just yet.
The Ravens, led by Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, dominated throughout. And they have now secured a decisive victory and are advancing to the divisional round.
