Talking to Toni Gonzaga studio, Carlos Yulo’s girlfriend Chloe San Jose opened up about harsher times during her childhood. She was born in the Philippines and raised in Australia. The influencer remarked that her life became tough during two phases. Once when she was 11 and the other time when she was 18.
Chloe had moved to Australia with her parents at the age of eleven. However, the adjustment to the new environment was not the tough part. She said that she experienced domestic violence. Not only did she witness it happening to other family members, she was also a victim of it. It got to a point where she wanted to run away. “When I was sixteen, I really wanted to leave. But since I was a minor, I couldn’t. So, I waited for two years, until I was eighteen, so that I could leave.” She then moved in with her best friend, whose family took her in.
Carlos Yulo’s girlfriend described the whole experience as harrowing and said that the violence was both verbal and physical. But, looking back, the whole incident made her a much braver person. Chloe San Jose also felt that maybe this was why her behavior is always misinterpreted. She said, “Maybe that’s why my courage was misunderstood. Because they don’t know what happened in my early childhood.” Her bravery has garnered a lot of controversy, as people have misconstrued her role in breaking Carlos Yulo’s family.
