Last year at Alabama was a tough time for Buchner. He slipped down the depth chart at quarterback, got benched in favor of Ty Simpson, and then heard that Jalen Milroe was going to be the starter next season. Honestly, he thought about quitting football altogether. Things got so rough, he even tried entering the transfer portal as a lacrosse player! But with the support of his loved ones, especially his girlfriend, he stuck with it.
Her name is Dani Schwartz! Tyler Buchner’s girlfriend, Dani, is a student at the University of Notre Dame. She is anticipated to graduate in May 2025. She’s a finance major, specializing in business, monetary history, and political studies. The Kansas native is actively involved in campus groups in addition to her studies. Dani has taken part in the Malpass Scholars program and is the co-president of the Wall Street Club. She also holds leadership positions in the Student IBC and the Investment Club. During her high school years, she was named a Kansas Soccer State Champion and received the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Along with studies, through internships, Dani has also acquired real-world experience. She was a summer analyst in investment banking at Evercore in New York, where she concentrated on mergers and acquisitions. After graduation, she intends to return to Evercore full-time.

At the University of Notre Dame, where Dani was a finance student and Tyler was an exceptional quarterback, the two of them first crossed paths. It’s tough to pinpoint the exact start of their relationship, but Tyler’s Instagram suggests it blossomed around 2022, his freshman year at Notre Dame. He later transferred to Alabama before returning to the Fighting Irish. This timeline roughly coincides with his first Instagram post featuring his girlfriend.
Tyler made their relationship Instagram official in August 2022 with a sweet birthday post for his girlfriend. He wrote, “Happy birthday to the best ever! I love you 
.” And he kept the love flowing the next year, posting, “To many more. Cheers to your birthday! I love you!” on her 2023 birthday. Looks like these two have a bright future together!
Tyler Buchner has one more year of eligibility left at Notre Dame, so he’ll be finishing up his time on campus in 2025. His girlfriend will be graduating from Notre Dame soon, though, so it’ll be interesting to see how they navigate the next chapter together.
